Meet Sarah-Anne Tourond
Sarah-Anne Tourond (she/her) is a Red River Métis and Anishinaabe woman, claimed by Gambler First Nation in Treaty 2, and the founder of Neechie Club: an indigenous led, land-based wellness collective rooted in reciprocity. A trauma-informed yoga instructor, somatic guide, registered massage therapist and an award nominated children’s author/ illustrator, she weaves together the science of the human body and nervous system with traditional teachings and storytelling to create spaces that ignite Indigenous joy and collective healing.
Land Acknowledgment As a guest on these territories, I am deeply grateful to live, work, and raise my son on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
I recognize that these lands have never been surrendered and have been lovingly cared for by their original stewards since time immemorial. In our daily lives and through my work, we commit to moving beyond mere words and striving to live in right relation with the land, water, and all living things, while actively learning from and supporting the reciprocal relationships modeled by the people of these Nations.
